Meet the Makers

Cove & Moor artisan Cornish food hamper with local tea, crackers, chocolate, chutney and fudge by a Cornish harbour

The people, the places and the craft behind the gifts we love.

Our inspiration began at farmers’ markets across Cornwall, where we discovered not just wonderful food, but the care and stories behind it. From time-honoured family recipes to modern artisan creations, we’re proud to share the work of these makers and businesses — and the little details that make every gift feel thoughtful.

Tregothnan

The tea grown in England

Along the sheltered banks of the River Fal, Tregothnan planted its first tea bushes in 1999. Its pioneering gardens brought the first commercially grown English tea to cups in 2005 — a remarkable Cornish story of patience, place and possibility.

Furniss of Cornwall

A tradition of Cornish baking

The Furniss story began in a Truro teashop in 1886, where John Cooper Furniss baked gingerbread and the spiced biscuits we know as Cornish Fairings. Generations later, that same love of good baking still shapes their Cornish biscuits.

The Cornish Jar

Little jars, big-hearted flavour

For Carly and Ryan, it began with a saucepan bubbling away in their home kitchen. Their love of bold flavours grew into small-batch Cornish jams and chutneys, lovingly stirred to bring a little joy to shared meals.

Chocolarder

Chocolate with a conscience

Founded in 2012 by former pastry chef Mike Longman, Chocolarder crafts bean-to-bar chocolate in Falmouth. Their carefully sourced ingredients and thoughtful approach to making show that exceptional chocolate can have an ethical story too.

Buttermilk

A Cornish story of sweetness, tradition and craftsmanship.

Founded in a little fudge shop in Padstow in 1964, Buttermilk has grown into a much-loved family-run confectioner, creating beautiful handmade treats using traditional methods passed down through generations.

From classic Clotted Cream to indulgent Caramel Sea Salt and Spiced Apple Crumble, each flavour celebrates their passion for confectionery.

We’re delighted to showcase Buttermilk as part of our carefully curated collection of Cornish artisan treats.
